New Workers Compensation Guidelines

The new Guidelines for Claiming Workers Compensation came into effect today.  The Guidelines set out the State Insurance Regulatory Authority’s (SIRA) expectation of best practice claims processes. Whilst the document is lengthy, it will assist workers in knowing what they are entitled to claim and how the insurer should proceed to process the claim.

The Guidelines relate to all claims’ activities and replace the 2013 WorkCover Guidelines for Claiming Compensation Benefits, the 2013 WorkCover Guidelines for work capacity, the 2013 Guidelines for work capacity and internal reviews by insurers and merits reviews by the Authority and the 2004 WorkCover Guidelines for the provision of domestic assistance.
